Our First Meeting

Three people carried a passion and little did any one of them know that God would bring them together to be a positive force to contend for the lives of unborn children. Some people think that random meetings are a thing of chance. Those who walk the path of faith know that such meetings are divine appointments. A Voice for Life is a pro-life film that is the result of God bringing three people together under his guidance to offer love, hope, healing and forgiveness for all those touched by abortion. A Voice for Life became a reality when Melissa Ohden, Steve Feazel and Gunther Meisse II combined their talents to present a miraculous message of life. This unique film views abortion through the eyes of Melissa Ohden who is an abortion survivor. Producer and writer, Steve Feazel met Melissa when both were appearing on a TV talk show in Pittsburgh. Steve was there promoting another documentary when he heard Melissa tell her story. The idea of producing a documentary featuring Melissa immediately entered his mind. It was an idea that God would not let escape. Steve shared his interest in making the documentary with his friend Gunther Meisse II who operates his own film production company AllProHD. Gunther had been dreaming of producing films that would make a difference in the lives of people. Again, God rooted the idea into Gunther's head and heart. He called Steve some months later to see if the project could proceed. Melissa was open to the idea and the three met when Melissa came to their area for a speaking engagement. On that night, the film, A Voice for Life, had its beginning and a new ray of hope shone for life.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken". Ecclesiastes 4:12

Melissa Ohden

Melissa is the survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977. Despite the initial concerns regarding Melissa's future after surviving the attempt to end her life and being born alive at approximately six months gestation, she has not only survived but thrived. With a Master's Degree in Social Work, she has worked in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence/sexual assault counseling, and child welfare. Melissa was formerly a College Outreach Speaker with Feminists for Life, traveling to college campuses to share her story while advocating for resources and supports for pregnant and parenting college students and advocating for the rights of the unborn. In 2011, Melissa was named Patron of Real Choices Australia, after her first tour of Australia prompted widespread awareness of Melissa's positive message and life's work. Melissa will continue to work with Real Choices Australia and organizations across Australia to ensure that women and men are provided real choices and supports that are life-affirming, while sharing the true reality of abortion with others and working to save the lives of children just like her. Melissa is the Founder and Director of For Olivia's Sake, an organization which seeks to peacefully raise awareness of the intergenerational impact of abortion on men, women, children, families, and communities. The birth of Olivia, her first child, in 2008, prompted Melissa to found For Olivia's Sake. Painfully aware that Olivia would not have come into existence if the abortion would have succeeded in ending her life, Melissa felt driven to create this organization that would positively raise awareness of the ripple effect of abortion across generations.
